Caring for Your Silver Jewelry
How Often to Wear Silver Jewelry
Silver jewelry loves to be worn often! It can be worn daily but should be removed during activities like household chores, exercising, or when using chemicals and cosmetics to prevent damage and tarnishing.
How to Clean Silver Jewelry
Our silver jewelry is crafted with a special protective coating that helps prevent tarnishing and scratches. This layer ensures that your pieces stay shiny and beautiful for longer. However, to preserve their shine and elegance, you can clean them yourself. Here’s how you can do it:
-
Soft, Lint-Free Cloth
To remove small spots and light tarnish, simply give your silver jewelry a quick polish with a soft lint-free cloth. This is the perfect solution for quick care and helps keep your jewelry shiny and clean.
-
Silver Polishing Cloth
If you want to go the extra mile, use a special silver polishing cloth. These cloths are treated with chemicals specifically designed to remove tarnish and bring back the shine to your silver jewelry.
Find a clean section of the cloth, which usually has a side for cleaning and a side for polishing.
Hold the jewelry piece firmly but gently. Use the cleaning side to rub the surface of the silver with light pressure in straight, back-and-forth motions. Focus on tarnished areas, but cover the entire piece for an even shine.
Switch to the polishing side of the cloth.
Gently buff the silver to bring out its shine using straight motions and light pressure.
Once satisfied with the polishing, give the piece a final wipe with a clean, soft cloth to remove any remaining residue.Note: Do not use this cloth on shell. Shells require a different type of care (described below).
Caring for Your 18K Gold-Plated Jewelry
18K gold-plated silver jewelry combines the beauty of gold with the durability of sterling silver. Our high-quality pieces feature a base of sterling silver, expertly coated with a thick layer of 18K gold. This premium gold plating ensures a long-lasting and radiant finish, providing you with beautiful and resilient jewelry.
How to Clean 18K Gold-Plated Jewelry
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the brilliance and beauty of your gold-plated sterling silver jewelry. Over time, necklaces and rings can gather oils, lotions, sweat, and environmental residues, which can dull their shine and lead to tarnishing. By cleaning your jewelry regularly, you eliminate these impurities and prevent them from causing long-term damage. This ensures that your jewelry retains its vibrant appearance and captivating allure.
-
Soft, Lint-Free Cloth
A soft, lint-free cloth is ideal for dry cleaning your gold-plated silver jewelry. This method helps maintain the shine and beauty of your pieces without causing damage. Here's how to use it:
Use the cloth to gently wipe away oils, fingerprints, and light dirt from the jewelry. Move the cloth in straight, back-and-forth motions to avoid scratching the surface.
Polishing: The soft texture of the cloth makes it perfect for polishing your jewelry, bringing back its shine and brilliance.
Caring for Your Shells
The shell pieces incorporated into our jewelry are meticulously selected and undergo a comprehensive preparation process to ensure they are of the highest quality and uniqueness. Each shell is carefully chosen and polished to achieve a smooth, radiant surface, enhancing its natural allure. After this process, the shells require no additional cleaning, maintaining their pristine and captivating appearance.
How to Clean Shells
However, if you notice that a shell requires cleaning, please refer to our guide on How to Clean Shells.
-
Method 1: Soaking in Soapy Water
Mix a small amount of mild dish soap with warm water in a bowl. Use a soft cloth to gently scrub the shells, removing any remaining dirt or debris. Rinse the shells under clean, warm water to remove any soap residue. For a final touch, gently wipe the shells with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure they are perfectly clean.
-
Method 2: Natural Oils
Pour a small amount of coconut oil into a bowl. Dip a soft cloth into the coconut oil and gently rub it onto the shell's surface. Use a clean, soft cloth to buff the shell, bringing out its natural shine and adding a layer of protection. Ensure that there is no excess oil left on the shell by wiping it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
